Interlibrary Loan / ILL

INTERLIBRARY LOAN (ILL) / DOCUMENT SUPPLY

Interlibrary Loan means the procurement of information sources that are not available in the library collections from other institutions subject to lending criteria of such institutions. Average delivery time of book and article requests is 2-3 days.

GENERAL RULES

 

“Interlibrary Loan (ILL)” and “Document Supply” services can only be used by the academic personnel, administrative personnel and PhD students of Bahçeşehir University.
Requests for information sources that are not available in the library are made online by filling out the ILL form on the library’s website and requests that are made in person are not accepted.
The person who makes an ILL request must check prior to making request if the item is available at Bahçeşehir University’s library catalogue. (http://library.bahcesehir.edu.tr).
Book and article requests with incomplete bibliographic information will be reported to the person making the request and requests will be processed after the missing information is completed.
Requests for books and articles which have missing bibliographic information and are not proved to exist are reported to the person making the request and cancelled.
After the requested material is received by the library, the person making the request is informed by phone or e-mail of when and where he/she will receive the material.
Renewal of materials that are borrowed from other institutions is subject to ILL policy of lending institution.
Materials that are delivered under an ILL request should be received from and returned to the “Technical Services Office” between 08:30 a.m. – 17:30 p.m. on weekdays.
Readers who want to renew the lending time of materials that are received under ILL can request renewal 3 days before the date of return.
A user may request a maximum of 5 materials at once.

RULES OF USE FOR OTHER UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES

All transactions are made on KİTS (Interlibrary Cooperation Track System) as from April 15, 2009.
Only ILL participant libraries can benefit from the interlibrary loan (ILL) service.
For lending procedures, the Interlibrary Loan Book/Article Request Form on KİTS must be filled completely.
The institution that filled out the form will be responsible in case of lost and/or damage of borrowed materials.
University libraries can request borrowing 20 books in a month.
Requested books will be sent by cargo. The books that need to be returned to Bahçeşehir
University’s Barbaros Library are preferred to be delivered by cargo.
All cargo expenses are borne by the library that made the request.
Journals, reference sources, rare materials, reserve materials and audio-visual materials cannot be borrowed.
Copies of articles will be sent to the extent permitted under the copyright law.
If needed, a loaned material can be requested back before its due date.
